What moves the number

Why we can't give you one price for everyone

A fixed starting price is honest. A single price for every house wouldn't be. These are the variables that actually change what you pay, in roughly the order they matter.

Brand and capacity

Midea and Haier keep the total down. Mitsubishi, Daikin and Fujitsu cost more and hold their efficiency longer. A bigger room needs more capacity, which costs more regardless of brand. See the brand comparison.

Access and pipe run

Ground floor, outdoor unit close to the indoor one, straightforward wall: fastest and cheapest. Two-storey, a long pipe run, or scaffolding adds time, and time is what you're paying for.

Ducted vs high-wall

Ducted is a different job entirely: zoning, ceiling space, more fittings. It's quoted after we've seen the roof space, not off a phone call.

How many units

Servicing and cleaning get cheaper per unit from the second one on, because we're already on site and set up.

What we find on repairs

A blocked drain and a failed compressor are not the same job. We diagnose first and give you the number before any work starts, never after.

How dirty it actually is

A yearly clean is faster than a unit that's been ignored for five years with visible mould on the barrel fan. We confirm the figure once we've had a look.

About pricing

Is $500 the real total, or just the start?

It's the labour, and it's real. That's genuinely what a standard high-wall install's labour starts at. The unit is separate, so the total depends on the brand and capacity the room needs. Tell us the room on the quote form and we'll give you the whole figure.

Why don't repairs and cleaning have a starting price here?

Repairs because the same symptom can be a five-minute fix or a failed compressor, and quoting one number for both would be a guess dressed up as a price. Cleaning because we're still finalising our entry pricing for that service, and it's coming soon. Neither has a call-out charge to find out.

Do you price match?

We don't run a price-match guarantee. What we do instead is quote honestly the first time, with the unit and labour broken out, so you've got a real figure to compare against anyone else's quote.

Is there financing available?

Ask us when you call. We're setting up payment options and can tell you what's available for your job at the time of quoting.
